Directorate

Appointments to the Posts of Director of Health and Environmental Services and Head of Environmental Health (Mrs. J. Minne, Head of Human Resources, attended in connection with this item.)

The Committee was reminded that, at its meeting on 3rd March, it had been advised of the need to undertake a recruitment exercise to fill the post of Director of Health and Environmental Services which was due to become vacant following the retirement of the current Director, Mr. W. Francey, from the Council.

The Head of Human Resources reported that that process had now been concluded and the selection panel had recommended unanimously that Mrs. Suzanne Wylie be appointed to the post of Director of Health and Environmental Services, with effect from 3rd May.

The Committee was reminded further that, at its meeting on 12th April, it had been advised that Mrs. Wylie had been the successful candidate for the post of Head of Environmental Health. However, following her appointment as Director of Health and Environmental Services, the reserve candidate for the post of Head of Environmental Health, namely, Mrs. Siobhan Toland had been appointed, with effect from 3rd May.

The Committee noted the information which had been provided and congratulated Mrs. Wylie and Mrs. Toland on their appointments.
