Was das Salz für die Nahrung ist, das seid ihr für die Welt. Wenn aber das Salz seine Kraft verleirt, wie soll es sie wiederbekommen? Man kann es zu nichts mehr gebrauchen. Darum wirft man es weg,und die Menschen treten es in den Schmutz.Ihr seid Licht für de Welt. Eine Stadt, die auf einem Berg liegt, kann nicht verborgen bleiben. Auch brennt keener eine Lampe an, um sie dann unter eine Schüssel zu stellen. Im Gegenteil, man stellt sie auf einen erhöhten Platz, damit sie allen im Haus leuchtet. Genauso muß auch euer Licht vor den Menschen leuchten, damit sie eure guten Taten sehen euren Vater im Himmel preisen.
You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt hath lost its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is henceforth good for nothing but to be cast out and to be trodden underfoot. You are the Light of the World. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither is a candle hid and put under a bushel, but on a candlestick, and it gives light to everyone in the house. Let your light so shine that your good works may be seen and so glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Ein großes Licht, die Beleuchtung der Welt hat entflammt wurde erhöht auf einen Leuchter scheint über die ganze Erde, eine königliche Stadt gut befestigt, und legen Sie auf einem Hügel, in dem gibt es eine große Bevölkerung, die zu Gott gehören.

A great Light illuminating the World has been kindled, raised on a candlestick, shining over the whole earth, a royal city well fortified and set on a hill, in which there is a great population who belong to God.

Das Wandbild von Kenneth Webb in Bangor Abbey wurde unter der Leitung von Canon James Hamilton beauftragt. Die Verwendung des Dreiecks, angibt, dass die Heilige Dreifaltigkeit, durchzieht das gesamte Design und führt uns nach oben aus den Zahlen von Comgall, Columbanus und Gall im Vordergrund, die zentrale Figur des Christus aufsteigend. Die Features von Christus sind die von einer schwarzen Person, betont die mystische Natur der Sohn des Menschen. Er versteht sich als seinem letzten Befehl geben:

“Gehet in alle Welt und predigt das Gospel”

The mural by Kenneth Webb in Bangor Abbey was commissioned under the guidance of Canon James Hamilton. The use of the triangle, denoting the Holy Trinity, pervades the whole design and leads us upwards from the figures of Comgall, Columbanus and Gall in the foreground to the central figure of the Ascending Christ. The features of Christ are those of a Black person, emphasising the mystic nature of the Son of Man. He is conceived as giving His Last Command:

” Go ye into all the World and preach the Gospel”
