Ian, a chara,

I hope this letter finds you well.

Sinn Féin is holding a conference in Dublin and I would be grateful if you would accept an invitation to attend. It will be in the Rotunda Pillar Room, on Saturday, June 18th., from 10.00 am to 3.30 pm.

The Conference theme is ‘Towards a New Republic’ with some overarching themes such as Equality and Children; Catholic, Protestant and Dissenter and Building an All Ireland Economy.

There are many opportunities on this small island of ours to make it a better place for all our people to live in. In the current economic downturn it makes common sense to plan all areas of life on a national basis, instead of duplication of education and health services etc.

We are inviting people from different walks of life to say a few words about the future of this country and its people and it would be great if you could accept this invitation and talk about the New Republic.

Would you be available to speak at the session on Catholic, Protestant and Dissenter which will take place from 2.30 – 3.30 pm. Other speakers, thus far, confirmed for this session are Davy Adams, Aengus Ó Snodaigh, TD. and Brian Keenan, former hostage.

As you know a lot of progress has been made. It is my conviction that the unity of our people – the bringing together of Orange and Green and all the colours in between – and the unity of our small island can be achieved.

Please contact Lucilita Bhreatnach, All Ireland Co ordinator to make the necessary arrangements.

Thanking you,

Gerry Adams, Teachta Dála
