BALMORAL REVIEW

Saturday 19th May 2012

Ormeau Park

The Ulster Unionist Party under the historic banner of “The Ulster Unionist Council” has decided to take part in the Centenary of the Balmoral Review, as a re-enactment of the events of 1912 that were instigated by our political predecessors, Sir Edward Carson and Sir James Craig.

We have commissioned an Ulster Unionist Council Covenant Centenary Bannerette to carry at the front of our delegation.

If you wish to take part, you must be available from 9.30am until 6.30pm on Saturday 19th May.  We would encourage as many of you as possible to take part in this historic event by ensuring you are present for the inward parade as well as the outward parade.

The Parade will leave Clifton Street Orange Hall at 10am.

The Parade arrives at Ormeau Park at 12pm

The Homeward Parade will leave Ormeau Park at 5pm

There will be musical entertainment and a tented village throughout the afternoon in Ormeau Park.

Dress Code for Ladies and Gentlemen will be ‘Smart/Business’

Dark Suit, White Shirt/Blouse, Dark/appropriate tie/neckwear, dark footwear.

No regalia will be worn.

Party Centenary Badges to be worn on the lapel.

Please contact the General Secretary by email to confirm your attendance colin.mccusker@uup.org

UPDATE – BALMORAL REVIEW – UPDATE

Saturday 19th May 2012

Ormeau Park

We have been advised by the organisers that we are only expected to take part on the inward parade on Saturday morning.  In effect this means we only require you to commit to being in Belfast until from 9.30 am until approximately 1.00 pm.

We are very pleased with the response so far, but if you think this change in the arrangements makes it more accessible for you, please get in touch as per our original email.

BALMORAL REVIEW

Saturday 19th May 2012

Ormeau Park

Thank you to all those who have indicated their intention to take part in the Balmoral Review.

The image above is a replica of the Bannerette we will be walking behind.  This will be at Clifton Street Orange Hall from approximately 9.30 am on Saturday morning.  This should be your focal point.

As we are not planning to be in the return parade, I would advise that you make arrangements to be dropped off at Clifton Street Orange Hall, rather than parking any vehicles in or around the area. I am unaware of any car parks, other than Castlecourt, close to Clifton Street Orange Hall.

We will be in the parade after Ballymacarrett DLOL No 6 and before the Independent Orange Order.

We will also have our own band – The Enniskillen Fusiliers.

If you have any problems please contact Colin McCusker on 07740 123 898.
